Allison + Briggy UVA Wedding

Allison and Briggy encompass the phrase “Virginia Is For Lovers”. Even after moving states away they decided to return to Virginia for their wedding day. They are both UVA alumni and wanted their wedding to pay tribute to the magic they had in Charlottesville. From the gorgeous intimate UVA chapel ceremony to the fun energetic reception at The Jefferson Theater.

Allison is one of the most kind-hearted gals you will ever meet. She has a joy that radiates from within and through her smile. She has a true natural beauty about her that emanates through out everything she does. Briggy is charismatic and bubbly through and through. When you walk into a room you can feel his warmth and generous spirit. He’s one of those people that make you smile simply by beyond around them. Joy. Joy. Joy. These two are full of it. When their eyes met during their wedding day there was an overflow of love that came out of the well of their hearts. Together they make some of the most kind, authentic and down to earth couples you’ll ever meet. Beyond that they are silly and playful with each other with is adorable to witness. You can never take life too seriously, and these two got the goofiness down.

Allison wanted her wedding to be “…intimate, full of life and full of wonder” and wanted the details to speak of the old Hollywood vintage glam and glitter. It was truly that and more. Their color pallet was perfection with ashy purples, sages and golds. The decorations either glittered or glowed when you looked at them. Every single soul in that wedding was brimming with warmth. All the smiles like sweet embraces. And beyond the support there was the HOO cheers bellowing out from all the huddled alumni spilling over with UVA spirit.

It is such a gift to capture two people who are genuinely treasured by the other. I for one am very excited to have witnessed their first day in an amazing life journey. Congratulations you two!

Andrea’s Blueridge Mountain Portraits

Andrea’s portraits were right in the heart of the Blueridge Mountains. This was a session that truly resonated for me and I know will be impossible to forget. The light, the mountains, the living green as it surrounded Andrea and her beautiful soul spoke to me in a palpable way. Andrea was bright with that joy of hers that seams to start from her heart and escape from her smile. She is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met and I feel incredibly blessed to have had the chance to capture her.

Andrea is a fellow photographer and an insanely talented one at that. Make sure to check out her page at : Andrea Pesce Photography.

    Lydia + Peter’s Chicago Wedding

Lydia and Peter’s wedding, held in a charming Chicago church, was one for the books. The entire day was rich with tears, love, spirit and whole-hearted fun. I have the immense privilege of sharing that Lydia is my cousin. Beautiful and full of life, Lydia can scarcely be seen without a bright smile on her face. She is through and through one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, and I don’t say that just because I’m biased. Upon meeting this rare and beautiful girl you will feel like you might just be the most valued and loved person on the planet. She has a way of truly making every person feel special, regardless of if she’s known you for 20 years or 20 seconds.

So take that image of Lydia and pare it with Peter who is the PERFECT match for her. His love for his bride is so steady and real. Looking at the two of them is like looking at an old photograph; they are timeless and you can hardly imagine a life before where they were apart. They are, quite simply, meant to be together. Lydia and Peter both attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. They met while serving at the same youth group together and fell in love after months of friendship. Peter proposed to Lydia while taking a walk on the cliffs above the house he grew up in.

The day began at the Church, with everyone preparing for the big day ahead. Lydia and Peter were all smiles and anticipation. After a heartfelt first look in the stairwell of the church we traveled to a bird sanctuary that overlooked the skyline of Chicago. I asked Lydia what she wanted most from her photos of the day and she replied, “Happy, magical, enchanting – like Disneyland meets Bethany Snyder Photography”. I felt like this location was the perfect environment for just that. Every moment was intertwined in this joyful and dreamy presence. It was hard to believe, even for myself, that there was anyone else there but them.

The ceremony and reception took place at the church they attend together, Edgewater Baptist Church. The first time Lydia’s dad laid eyes on her it was tears, laid unabashed on his face. The honor, support and value behind his eyes shone so bright. The rest of the night continued with lots of teary eyes and bursts of laughter, followed by some of the liveliest dancing I’ve ever seen. Let me tell you folks, I’ve seen a lot of dancing, but this was something almost from another world. Joy, joy everywhere. Go on and look to the end. You’ll see what I mean!

    Congratulations Lydia and Peter!

Big shout out to the awesome vendors and family members who helped make the day magical!

Katie & Luke Inn At Westwood Farm Wedding

Katie and Luke’s wedding at the Inn At Westwood Farm went out without a hitch. Every single moment of the day was intertwined with pure joy, silliness and authentic passion for one another. My heart is gushing over these two. They are so in love, so deeply and hopelessly smitten.

Katie and Luke were high school sweethearts until one day he popped the question while walking their at their Labrador retriever Ginny on their favorite walking trail. Ginny made a bright and energetic appearance at the wedding right after Katie and Luke’s teary first look. You can tell she is one LOVED puppy and that Katie and Luke are loved right back with the same enthusiasm.

Yet again the Inn At Westwood Farm did not disappoint. Between the cozy, rustically elegant inside to the wide expansive grounds, every moment contained within it was breath-taking. The ceremony took place in the front yard of the Inn in front of a gorgeous tree. Cocktails followed at the barn, and the reception was held under a tent on the grounds. Every single detail from the gorgeous floral arrangements all the way to her blush bow on her dress was executed with perfection. The sages, yellows and pinks were in perfect hardmony with one another. I was just amazed and in awe of the talent of all the vendors.

The reception was a huge hit with delicious food, cupcakes, and teary-eyed toasts, finished off with some lively dancing and conversation. It was a day and night to remember forever. So many unique moments interwoven throughout the entire day.

Katie + Luke’s Inn at Westwood Farm Rehearsal Dinner

The Inn at Westwood Farm is the ideal place to bring together all those you love. It is warm, personal and brings about the perfect atmosphere for beautiful experiences. Katie and Luke were surrounded by close friends and family having a blast and filled up to the brim with excitement for the wedding. The animals were all out being friendly and everyone couldn’t have been more delighted. My favorite part of the evening was simply how authentic everything was. Moment after moment of joy at its fullest and pure fun. This was such a great night to experience.
