Eli and Annie’s Wedding

I had another breath-taking wedding in the gorgeous Lydia Mountain Lodge in Stanardsville, Va. Eli and Annie chose to pledge their mutual devotion on the most beautiful of days, surrounded by those that love and support them tremendously. Annie chose to wear her mother’s bridal gown, tailored to her own personality. Eli, during the First Look, was overwhelmed by all the beauty found in front of him. He, too, looked sharp in his white linen suit with Turquoise accents. The joyful, playful, romantic relationship that these two shared was remarkable.

Eli and Annie chose a hand-fasting ritual for their ceremony; a Celtic tradition which binds the two forever with the tying of the cord around their hands. The ceremony was truly unforgettable, and rich with sweet love. Afterwards we shared an amazing time taking portraits, being silly, and capturing their great adventure of promise. Unique and inspiring, it was such an honor to witness these two tying their hearts together.

My oh my, was the reception great fun. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a collection of incredible dancers on in one room! It was a blast to record the celebration and the relationship between parents and their children, partners, sisters, and brothers. My heart was moved by the immense love surrounding me. It was my privilege and pride to be a part of this gorgeous wedding. Congratulations, Eli and Annie! Best wishes to you and a lifetime of happiness!

Linda’s Maternity

May 23, 2014

Friends, what a remarkable session this was. Between the lavish affection, immense love and delicious sun; it left me beaming as I departed. Linda and Jessie are truly fun and it was such a blast capturing them! I’m blessed to also know them and call them good friends. I feel so privileged that they included me in such a precious moment in their lives. Baby Arowyn is due in July! Yay!

My favorite part of this session was how natural everything was for them. I felt like I was simply an observer of a happy couple expecting their first child. Full of love, light and joy. I know without a doubt that their love will extend to their sweet girl. She will be in a home full of laughter and kisses. I can’t wait to meet her and take lots of pictures of little face! Congratulations, you two! Much love!

Jake and Michelle’s Wedding

Tucked away in the mountains was a perfect wedding on a gorgeous day. Michelle and Jake chose the Lydia Mountain Inn, in Stanardsville Va. Their ceremony was elegant and and serene, overlooking a glorious mountain range. Behind them were blossoming purple flower trees, a sight that was truly breathtaking. Their reception was held at a charming pavilion with a rustic cabin feel, with mason jars filled with tiny lights hanging from the ceiling. I absolutely loved the feel of this charming, cozy, and intimate venue.

I asked Jake and Michelle to describe what they wanted their wedding to convey in one word, and they said “AWESOME!”. It truly was. The views, the vows, the toasts, and let’s not forget the DANCING! I couldn’t help but dance a little myself as I took pictures of the lively group. It was so touching to see all the support from friends and family who some have come a LONG way to be there.

Michelle and Jake love hard and play hard. They are an easy going couple who enjoys to have fun and be silly. Their romance began with online dating and blossomed into a precious relationship. The connection between these two was remarkable. It’s obvious to me that they married as best friends, and that’s an amazing thing. I’m so happy for them both! Congratulations, you two!

Gome’s Family Session

You know joy when you see it and the Gome’s family has it in full. My face hurt on the way home from smiling so much in response to the kid’s giggles and wide grins. It is so exciting that the trees are in full bloom and the leaves have sprung to say hello. Finally I can say Spring is here for good! What an incredible afternoon at Pen Park.

Matt and Jaime informed me that they will be moving to Connecticut in just a short time. They have become great friends of mine and my daughter Charis. I will be so sad to see them go, but happy that they have amazing things coming up in their future. Pen Park is a special place for them and has become a favorite park for the kids. I’m glad that I was able to capture this family in their natural element and I hope that for years to come they will look fondly back on these pictures. A little memento of their joy in Charlottesville. Much love and best wishes, friends!

Filiano Family Session

I had SO much fun with the Filiano family during our session. We decided on the Monticello trail which, by the way, has the most amazing hollowed trunks ever. It’s a great place to take the kids and let boys be boys (as you can see below). I had an amazing time capturing the friendship and joy that they shared with one another. I had so much fun working with Ashley’s energetic boys who couldn’t get enough of the camera.

We witnessed some flowering trees, which to me is an exciting thing. Spring has ARRIVED! I am beyond thrilled for all the colors to start popping out.
